What is an automatic boom barrier gate and where is it used?
An automatic boom barrier gate is a motor-driven arm that opens and closes a single traffic lane. It is used at car park entrances and exits, toll lanes, gated communities, factory and logistics gates, and any site that needs controlled vehicle entry without a permanently staffed guard post.
How do I choose the right barrier gate for a project?
Match four things to the site: lane width and boom length (3 m to 10 m), traffic frequency and required opening speed, the drive type (AC, DC brushless or servo) and the access credential you want to read - ANPR/LPR plate recognition, long-range RFID, QR, card or remote control. Duty level matters more than price on high-traffic lanes.
What is the difference between ANPR, LPR and ALPR?
They describe the same technology: automatic number plate recognition. LPR is the more common term in North America and ALPR is its full form. A camera terminal reads the plate, the parking software matches it to a whitelist, ticket or billing rule, and then triggers the barrier to open without the driver stopping.
Can Baroxon® barrier gates operate completely unattended?
Yes. With an ANPR/LPR camera terminal or long-range RFID reader, the barrier opens automatically for authorised vehicles and closes after the vehicle passes. Entry for visitors is handled by ticket, QR code or intercom release, and payment through a self-service kiosk or an app, so no attendant is needed on site.
What happens if a vehicle hits the boom arm?
Baroxon® barriers use anti-collision rebound logic. If the arm is struck while closing, the controller reverses the arm immediately and logs the event, so the arm and gearbox are protected and the lane keeps working. Arms and rubber buffers are replaceable, low-cost parts.
Are the barriers suitable for outdoor and coastal conditions?
Yes. The housings are IP65 rated with powder-coated or die-cast surfaces, and the DC brushless and servo drive options are designed for continuous outdoor duty. For coastal, desert or high-humidity sites we recommend confirming the housing finish and the dust and salt-fog protection level when ordering.
Can the barrier integrate with our existing parking or security system?
Barriers and turnstiles are supplied with dry-contact, relay, Wiegand, RS-485 and network interfaces, and can be integrated with third-party parking platforms, ANPR software or access control systems. Share your interface specification before the order so the control board and firmware are configured in the factory.
How long does delivery take and how are the goods shipped?
Lead time depends on the model, configuration and quantity, and is confirmed on the order. Orders are export-packed and shipped by sea or air to the destination port, with commercial invoice, packing list and the certification documents required for customs clearance.
Do you supply spare parts after the sale?
Yes. Arms, rubber buffers, control boards, motors, gearboxes, photo-electric sensors, loop detectors and remote controls are all available as spares, and we keep spares available throughout the service life of the model so equipment is never stranded by a single component.
